Mechanical Design Engineer. Role Type: Permanent. Location: Co Meath. FRS Recruitment are working with a design safety specialist company based to Co Meath to secure a mechanical engineer to join their team. This is a good opportunity for someone with good solid basis in mechanical design that wants to get some more exposure to project work and client liaison. This is a junior to mid level role and would suit someone with 2 to 3 years experience. Main Duties & Responsibilities. . § Generate 2D & 3D system designs using Solidworks and AutoCAD including production drawings for manufacture of customised solutions. § Update the company's Solidworks Parts Library including helping fellow Design Team members develop their Solidworks skills. § Ensure that all design work is performed as defined within the company's Quality Management System. § Assist with site surveys, pre awards and managing client expectations. Requirements - Essential Skills / Attributes. § Third level qualification in Engineering or Project Management with knowledge of the construction industry a key advantage. § Full proficiency in Solidworks and knowledge of using 2D & 3D CAD is essential. § Practical and innovative approach to work with an emphasis on simplicity of design, manufacture and assembly. Previous fabrication experience a distinct advantage. § Ability to work on own initiative including flexibility to work within a small team structure & meet tight deadlines. § Good organisational, communication and accuracy skills. § Commercial awareness and experience of managing / working within budgets.
