The Sheraton Athlone Hotel is currently seeking to recruit a Hotel Porter. The successful candidate will work with a Departments throughout the hotel to assist with the smooth running of the day-to-day operations. Main Duties: To be responsible for the transportation of guest luggage. To be responsible for the preparation and setting up of all Function & Meeting Rooms. To ensure Gentleman’s toilets and cloakrooms are kept clean and tidy at all times. To perform security checks at regular intervals. To be responsible for looking after guests needs as directed by Reception. To deal with all external and internal queries related to Porterage. To be familiar with hotel layout, the hotel area and locality. To provide assistance to Reception in checking in/out Tour groups where requested. To operate machinery and care for it as necessary, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety procedures. To use soap, solvents and chemicals as directed. To replace toilet requisites as required. To operate machinery and care for it as necessary, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety procedures. To carry out fire and accident drills. To observe all safety rules and procedures. To ensure that all materials and equipment are not left in a hazardous state. To report and where possible, take action on incidents of accidents, fire loss or damage. To carry out the Hotels customer relations’ policy, and to communicate Hotel services to guests. To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming and to wear relevant uniform and namebadge at all times.
